The Byrne and Smith wine portfolio focuses on Shiraz and Chardonnay. With such diverse vineyard resources available, Winemaker Duane Coates is able to blend parcels of fruit from these regions to produce affordable, multi-regional wines of exceptional quality.

Duane Coates has a very impressive international background in winemaking (Burgundy, Rhone Valley in France & Douro Valley, Portugal), holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Oenology degrees from the University of Adelaide. Having completed examinations for the prestigious Masters of Wine (MW) program, Duane is currently finalising his supporting dissertation.
